India continues to log a huge number of Covid-19 cases. From Monday morning to Tuesday morning, the country reported the highest single-day spike of 9,987 new cases.

In the said period, there were 331 deaths. "Total number of cases in the country is now at 2,66,598, including 1,29,917 active cases, 1,29,215 cured/discharged/migrated and 7,466 deaths," the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said on Tuesday.

While the cases continue to increase, India's recovery rate is overwhelmingly encouraging. Journalist Anand Narasimhan writes, "Approximately 2.6 lakh cases. Should we say 'Oh My God we are more than Spain & ranked 5th worldwide'? Or should we say 'Thank God we have nearly 50% recovery rate & ranked 120 in deaths per million at 4 per million ratio'? Remember 2.57 lakh cases on 1.3bn population base. Healing faster, fighting well Bharat."
