The Telangana High Court on Monday told the state government that testing is not adequate and as per its standards. The HC wants the number of tests to be doubled. Especially, the court wants the proportion of RT-PCR tests in the total tests to go up. Rapid Antigen tests are less reliable.
More importantly, the court also expects the KCR government to release a new Government Order on the price of PPE kits, CT scans and others. "To stop hospitals from overcharging patients #Telangana High Court directs government to issue a #GO fixing maximum price for #Covid related treatment within 48 hours and display it on their official website," tweeted lawyer Karam Komireddy.
It wants the government to be prepared for a third wave.
Home isolation kits have been coming with steroids, whose use is believed to be reckless, leading to Black Fungus cases. So, the HC has directed the government to stop putting steroids into the kits.
While the government has been claiming that the number of beds in the State is adequate, the ground reality is otherwise, the HC observed.
