COVID-19: As India logs more than 60,000 cases in 24 hours, here are some facts

India has logged 60,975 fresh COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours (as of Tuesday morning). This brings the cumulative tally to 31,67,323. The fatality toll stands at 58,390.
As per IANS, the total number of recoveries in the country has crossed the 24-lakh mark. To be precise, it has surged to 24,04,585 with 66,550 more people recuperating in the past 24 hours. The actual caseload of India is the active cases, which currently stands at 7,04,348.
The good news is that the growth rate of active cases is climbing down, with recoveries improving. Prof. Shamika Ravi presents some interesting facts based on baseline data:
Total cases = 31,64,254
Recovered = 24,03,094 (76%)
Active = 7,02,603 (22.2%)
Deaths = 58,557 (1.9%)
Tests per million = 33,810
Test positivity rate = 8.64%
