Covid-19: AP registers a superb recovery rate

Andhra Pradesh is witnessing some spectacular recovery rate. The official health bulletin from the Telugu State says that, as of Tuesday, 69% of total COVID-19 patients recorded in the State have recovered and been discharged. "This is more than 20% of the global recovery rate of 45%," the authorities added in a statement.
Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours (9am Tuesday to 9am Wednesday), 79 new positive cases were reported in AP. "The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 3,279. Total number of people discharged is 2,244 and number of active cases is 967," the Health Department said.
What about the recovery rate for the entire country? "Total cases have crossed 2,00,000, with a strong recovery rate (48.4%) and low death rate (2.8%). The ACTIVE cases (48.8%) are now growing at about 3.2%. So, doubling rate is 22 days," says Prof. Shamika Ravi.
