COVID-19: Actor Suraj Venjarmoodu quarantined

Actor Suraj Venjaramoodu has been quarantined after attending a programme at Venjaramoodu police station where a remand prisoner was tested positive for COVID-19. Along with Suraj, Vamanapuram MLA D K Murali had also attended an agriculture-related programme along with police officers on May 23.
Though all of them had maintained social distancing at the event, Suraj, his brother and MLA D K Murali were quarantined as part of precautionary measures. A few of the police officers are also now under quarantine.
The accused, who was arrested along with two of his friends on May 22 for drunken driving and hitting two police officers with a car, have been quarantined in a special sub-jail. It is not yet found how the patient contracted the disease.
