When March 25 offered a ray of hope with the number of positive cases ing Kerala falling from double digital numbers to nine, on Thursday, the number of positive cases increased again up to 19, the COVID-19 fear has turned alarmingly serious on March 27 with 39 new positive cases. This is the highest number of Covid-19 cases in a single day.
Of the 39 new cases, 34 are from Kasargod, 2 from Kannur and one each from Thrissur, Kozhikode, and Kollam. "This takes the total positive cases in the state to 176, including 12 discharged patients," said Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
