Covid testing in private labs stopped for 4 days?

Last week, coronavirus testing was stalled for two days in Telangana because of a huge backlog. Going by the latest reports, COVID-19 testing has been suspended once again.
As per a Toli Velugu report, the KCR government has stopped testing in private labs for the next four days. The government suspects that private labs have thrown up certain irregularities (in the way samples are collected and stored). With a majority of tests taking place in private labs, the latest move is definitely a setback.
The labs reportedly have been found to be following ICMR guidelines more in the breach.
The latest decision only compounds the problems, with the positivity rate threatening to go up. "Telangana had the highest test positivity rate in the country this month which ranged between 20% and 32% in the period June17-23," Times Of India said in a report on Thursday.
