UPSC on Monday held a review meeting after the end of Lockdown 2.0. With several restrictions still in place in Red Zones, especially containment clusters, the body decided to postpone Civil Services Examination (Prelims), which was to be held on May 31.
"The prelims exam stands deferred. The Indian Forest Service exam, too, stands postponed because its screening test is the same as for the CSE (read IAS, IPS, etc). A review meeting will be held on May 20 to review the prevailing situation and a new date will be announced in due course of time," the UPSC today said.
Interviews (officially known as personality tests) for the 2019 notification are yet to be conducted. They have been indefinitely postponed due to the lockdown.
"As and when dates are announced for the deferred tests/examinations, it will be ensured that candidates are given a notice of at least 30 days," the UPSC added.
