COVID 19 - Tamil Nadu goes past 14000 patients, Chennai racing towards 10000

The official updates on the COVID 19 situation in Tamil Nadu is once again shocking as 786 new patients tested positive in the state with Chennai again contributing the majority of 569 of those. The number includes 92 persons who came to the state from other parts of the country and foreign as well. TN now has 14,753 and Chennai 9364 cases with the death toll touching 98 after four persons lost their lives in the past twenty four hours.

On the positive side 846 patients have been discharged today taking the total number of recoveries to 7128. Coimbatore, Dharmapuri, Namakkal, Salem, The Nilgiris and Tiruppur are among the districts that have zero positive cases for the consecutive five or more days.

12,653 samples and 12,046 persons have been tested today out of the 3,85,185 samples tested to date. 503 samples are under process. Among those affected 902 are children under the age of 12.
