The official coronavirus update in Tamil Nadu is far from encouraging as 536 new cases have been detected in the past twenty-four hours. Chennai has once again contributed majorly to the state total by reporting 364 cases. The state total is now 11,760 while Chennai has 7117 patients to care for from the deadly virus. 46 of the the new Chennai patients are returnees from Maharashtra.

3 new deaths also reported in the state raising the death toll to 81 so far. 234 patients have been discharged today from hospitals across Tamil Nadu taking the total number of people who have been cured to 4,406.

11,121 samples have been tested today out of the 3,37,841 samples tested to date. 10,887 individuals have been tested today. Of the 11,760 cases, 7647 are male, 4110 female, 3 transgenders and 709 children under the age of 12 affected so far.
