Today's updates on the COVID 19 pandemic in Tamil Nadu has recorded yet another highest single day spike of 1685 new cases taking up the total tally to 34,914.  Chennai as usual is the major contributor to the number with 1243 cases today and a total of 24545.  The death toll has risen to 307 after 21 persons lost their lives in the past twenty-four hours.

On the positive side, 798 patients were discharged today taking up the number of recoveries to 18,325.  The Nilgiris and Tiruppur are among the few districts that are continuing to show zero numbers for more than a month now.

12,421 persons have been tested today out of 5,93,189 individuals tested so far. 13,219 samples were tested today out of which 579 samples are under process. 1839 children under the age of 12 have been affected so far which number is increasing day by day.
