COVID 19 Update - Chennai shows dip again while rest of Tamil Nadu soars high

The coronavirus official updates once again show Chennai maintaining its numbers of the past five days at 1168 new cases while the rest of Tamil Nadu is soaring hight at 4244 new cases. The total number of patients in the state is now 1,38,470 out of whom 77338 are housed in Chennai. The death toll has today increased to 1966 after 66 new deaths.

Apart from Chennai the highest number of positive cases have come from Kanchipuram- 385 and Madurai - 319. Chengalpet, Thiruvallur and Virudhunagar have reported 200+ cases while Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Theni, Thiruvannamalai, Tuticorin, Tirunelveli, Trichy and Vellore have each recorded 100+ cases.

On a positive note, the highest number of 41,325 tests were conducted in the past twenty-four hours and 3617 patients have been discharged taking up the tally of recoveries to 89,532.
