The official updates for the COVID 19 situation in Tamil Nadu has yet again reported the high number of new cases with 1091 today out of which 809 are from Chennai. The total cases in the state so far has gone up to 24,586 with the capital city housing 16585 patients. The death toll has risen to 197 after 13 persons lost their lives to the virus in the past twenty-four hours.

536 patients were discharged today raising the tally of recoveries to 13,706. The Nilgiris and Tiruppur are among the districts that have zero new patients today. 10,558 persons were tested today. out of 4,90,804 individuals tested so far in the state. 11,094 samples were tested today out of which 589 are under process. 1378 children under the age of 12 have been affected so far which continues to be a major worrying factor.
