The official updates on COVID 19 has come with another alarming day when Tamil Nadu has reported the high number of 688 new patients taking the total to 12,448. Chennai has contributed the massive 552 new cases raising doubts if the city is turning into the Wuhan of Tamil Nadu as every day the number is between four hundred to six hundred. Chennai's total now stands at 7672.
Out of the 688 COVID 19 cases reported today in Tamil Nadu, 87 are people who came from different countries and states. 23 people from Dubai, 49 from Maharashtra, 1 each from Kerala and Maldives,13 from Dubai, Kuwait and Malaysia. Three people lost their lives in the past twenty four hours raising the death toll to 84.
489 patients have been discharged today and the total number of recoveries is now 4895 Coimbatore, Erode, Salem, Namakkal and Tiruppur are among the districts that have reported zero cases for the past consecutive days.
10,333 samples and 9844 individuals were tested today out of 3,48,174 samples tested till date. Of the 12,448 cases, 8054 are male, 4391 female, 3 transgenders and 747 children under the age of 12 are among the affected.
