With India recently agreeing to export hydroxychloroquine drugs to the US, Donald Trump has thanked the country. Taking to Twitter, the American President also thanked Narendra Modi.
"Extraordinary times require even closer cooperation between friends. Thank you India and the Indian people for the decision on HCQ. Will not be forgotten! Thank you Prime Minister Narendra Modi for your strong leadership in helping not just India, but humanity, in this fight!" Trump wrote.
With him mentioning "strong leadership", many in India are proud of the PM.
Responding to the note, Modi today said that he fully agrees with Trump. "Times like these bring friends closer. The India-US partnership is stronger than ever. India shall do everything possible to help humanity's fight against COVID-19. We shall win this together," the PM tweeted out.
There is this propaganda in America that India decided to release hydroxychloroquine to the US because "they looked into it and realized there was no evidence that the drug even works against the coronavirus other than rumors and preliminary data from a bunch of quacks." Officially at least, this is not true. India is going to export the drug to Spain, Brazil and other countries in the coming months.
