Covid-19 patients in Mumbai hospital treated in ward with dead bodie

BJP legislator Nitesh N Rane has outed a video clip in which a Covid-19 ward in a Mumbai hospital has dead bodies lying on beds even as patients affected by the novel coronavirus are treated there. The dead persons, who are Covid-19 casualties, were wrapped in black plastic bags.

"The video is from the LTMG Hospital, Sion Hospital. It was shot by one of my activists who had gone to render some work there. Patients are seen there sleeping next to dead bodies! This is shameful," the BJP MLA has been quoted as saying by IANS.

As of Wednesday, the concerned authorities didn't open up on the controversial matter even after the video went viral.

Persons other than health workers are seen roaming in the ward, an Outlook report says, which only proves that safety measures are not in place in the hospital.

A question arises as to why the dead bodies were not shifted to morgue. It can be mentally devastating for patients to be in the same ward as dead bodies.
