World-famous microbiology expert Prof. Petr Chumakov has said that COVID-19 was caused because scientists at a lab in China's Wuhan did "absolutely crazy things". He added that the novel coronavirus must have accidentally originated in the lab during research for other vaccines.

As per the respected Russian expert, the scientists at the lab had been developing "various coronavirus variants for ten years".

"Their aim was to study pathogenicity. They didn't intend to create new pathogenic variants that could potentially infect humans," he added.

What sort of crazy things did the scientists do? "For example, inserts in the genome, which gave the virus the ability to infect human cells," he has been quoted by Daily Mail as saying.

While the Professor opines that the lab had no malicious intent, the Chinese regime can be rightly accused of criminal suppression of facts. After COVID-19 emerged in November 2019, they should have alerted the world and imposed a ban on travel from Wuhan. They didn't do it.
