With more and more doctors contracting Covid-19, government doctors in Telangana are mooting tele consultation for some categories of patients, a reporter of The Hindu says. For perspective, here is a shocking fact as per the newspaper: "Of at least 63 positive cases among doctors in the State till June 6, only four have been reported from Gandhi Hospital, which is a Covid isolation centre. The remaining 59 are from non-COVID government hospitals!"

In order to avoid direct contact with asymptomatic and symptomatic individuals, Tele-consultation is a route government doctors of the non-Covid hospitals are exploring. Patients with minor complaints will be made to use this route.

Another proposal is that a screen will be put up between the doctor and the patient to avoid any direct contact. A restriction on the number of attendees is also going to be implemented.

Many paramedics, junior and senior doctors are scared of the situation in the State, the report says.
