The official coroinavirus updates for Tamil Nadu shows a massive surge continuing for the second day as 6785 new cases have emerged today taking up the total to 1,99,749 nearing the two lakh mark. The death is now at 3320 after 88 persons lost their lives in the past twenty four hours.

Chennai continues to remain on the average of the past ten days with 1299 cases today. The other districts' data are Chengalpet and Virudhunagar- 400+ cases. Kancheepuram, Madurai, Thiruvallur and Tuticorin- 300+ cases. and Kanyakumari, Ranipet, Theni and Trichy- 200+ cases.

On the positive side the massive number of 63,182 persons were tested today which again is the highest so far. 6504 patients got discharged today which again is the highest in a single day and the recoveries count now stands at 1,43,297 in the state.
