COVID 19 Update - Tamil Nadu records shocking highest 5849 new cases today

Tamil Nadu recorded its highest single day spike of 5849 new COVID 19 cases by a big margin which is around a thousand more than yesterday. The death toll has risen to 2700 after 74 persons lost their lives in the past twenty-four hours. A further 444 deaths have been added to the tally which is the reconciled figure from March 1st to June 10th which were first thought to be due to other causes but now attributed to coronavirus. The total reconciled death toll by the deadly pandemic now stands 3144.
Chennai the worst affected zone in the early stages of the COVID 19 spread is now more or less flat with 1171 which average is being maintained for the past ten days. Among the rest of the districts Thiruvallur and Ranipet have reported 400+ cases while Kancheepuram, Tuticorin and Virudhunagar- 300+ cases and Chengalpet, Thiruvannamalai, and Trichy- 200+ cases which is the reason for the big spike in the number in the state.
On the positive side the highest number of 58,475 persons were tested today taking up the total number of tests conducted so far to 20,95,757 which is the highest in India. On the positive side 4910 patients were discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 1,31,583.
