The official coronavirus updates for today show yet another shocking surge in cases in Chennai which reported 138 positives out of the total 161 in the entire state of Tamil Nadu. The capital city has been reporting more than a hundred cases in the recent consecutive days. The total number of patients in TN now stands at 2323 and the death toll 27 with none reported today.

Today 9787 samples were tested out of 1,19,748 samples tested till date. 1,10,718 individuals have been tested so far. Of the 2323 cases, 1553 are male and 770 female patients. 142 children under the age of 12 have also tested positive so far.

The positive is that 48 patients have been discharged today out of 1258 and the total active cases now is 1035), Erode, Karur, Krishnagiri and The Nilgiris are on the verge of being declared coronavirus free districts.
