One, G. Poruldas, hailing from Mettur has filed a case in Chennai that he had started a film about a dog titled 'Bairavaa' in 2015 and has also duly registered the title with the South Indian Film and Television Producer's Guild. Now that the Vijay starrer with the same title is releasing Poruldas sought to ban the title.

The judge has stated that since the petitioner filed the case only two days before the release of 'Bairavaa' a stay cannot be granted as there is no opportunity to hear the other parties stand. The case has been adjourned to the 12th of January when Vijay Producions has to file their answer to the allegation but there is no ban issued.
