The Madras High Court today vacated a stay it issued against the release of 'Goa', a film produced by Soundarya Rajinikanth's Ocher Studios.

The stay was vacated after the producers of the movie came forward to repay Rs 1.6 crore they had received from one Varun Manian, a Chennai based businessman.

The Madras High Court on Tuesday last granted an injunction restraining Ocher Studios and Gemini Colour Lab from releasing the ‘Goa’ till December 11. Justice G Rajasuria ordered notice to respondents returnable by that date, following a civil suit filed by NAPC Properties managing director Varun Manian.

In his petition, Manian said the managing director of Ocher, Soundarya Rajinikanth, had borrowed Rs 1.6 crore from him for producing the movie and failed to repay it as promised.

Meanwhile, sources in Ocher Studios said they had not received the amount for producing 'Goa' as alleged by Manian but for other investment purposes. However we decided to repay the amount now to clear the stay first, they added.
