Actress Kaniha, who had debuted with Five Star produced by Maniratnam, later acted in many movies like Autograph, Ethiree, and paired with Thala Ajith in the superhit movie Varalaru. She had acted in many Malayalam movies too, and has is active in films post marriage as well.

After her marriage in 2008, Kaniha has reduced the number of movies she does but is active on social media, and regularly posts her workout videos. Just like the viral Ice Bucket Challenge, the couple workout challenge has been trending and Kaniha also posted a couple workout video with her husband, which has turned viral.

Kaniha had last acted in Tamil in Maniratnam's Ok Kanmani making a special appearance in a scene, and is now all set to play an important role in the upcoming movie of Vijay Sethupathi, VSP 33 directed by debutant Venkata Krishna Roganth, which also stars Megha Akash and Magizh Thirumeni.
