Andhra Pradesh chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu continues to hold the view that Electronic Voting Machines can be misused. Joining the gang of parties (such as Congress), the TDP supremo has demanded that all doubts should be removed over EVMs.
"I have been known for promoting Technology, but we cannot put the fate of our nation in a doubtful device such as EVM. It is the very reason why so many developed nations have moved back to paper ballots. The transparency of the elections is of utmost priority to us. Twenty-three parties of a united opposition have firmly requested the Election Commission that at least 50% of the VVPATs be counted to verify the votes," Naidu has said.
On Tuesday, the CM went to Kolkata to support Mamata Banerjee's dharna to "save the Constitution".
