New Year has kick started, newer releases have started making an impression and run of 'Tees Maar Khan' would soon be coming to an end. Meanwhile a pertinent question making the rounds is - 'Could 'Tees Maar Khan' have done better?'. The answer is plain and simple - 'Yes'. It is an agreed fact that word of mouth wasn't fantastic here by any means. However, in the past too there have been films which are marred by poor word of mouth but were salvaged to some extent with some 'inner support'.

In case of 'Tees Maar Khan', whether it was trade, industry or media, everyone was unanimous in panning the film. There was no support whatsoever from any quarters and eventually it all boiled down to 'Farah v/s Shah Rukh', 'Shah Rukh v/s Akshay' and 'Om Shanti Om v/s Tees Maar Khan'. The movie wasn't fighting in isolation for itself; it was fighting with quite a few internal and external forces at work as well. Not that support from trade, industry and media would have made it a blockbuster. However, it wouldn't have seen the kind of rapid fall that it eventually did, something that would account for a difference of at least 10-15 crores odd.

Before the release of 'Tees Maar Khan', Akshay had three other major successes that had settled in and around the 70 crores mark - 'Housefull', 'Singh Is Kinng' and 'Welcome'. While 'Tees Maar Khan' is now inching towards that mark, one waits to see now if the 72 crores record of Akshay's biggest grosser till date - 'Housefull' - would be broken here.

Meanwhile Akshay Kumar has surely and certainly moved on and is now eyeing the February release of 'Patiala House'.
