In an exclusive interview to Indiaglitz, Anu shared what went into the costumes she designed for 'Kabali.
"We sourced a lot of costumes from Europe. More of cotton and linens were used as it will give a nice classy look. We have used all natural fabrics. I think that's what is defining the character. It has turned out well and I am happy that the response is nice. "
Anu reveals that she generally she checks the images of all the films of an actor for whom she is designing the costumes. For 'Kabali' she got vital inputs from the film's Art Director Ramalingam.
"Ramalingam sir helped me a lot. He is an ardent fan of Rajini sir and remembers the costumes he wore in most of his films since the 1980s. He will tell me the dresses worn by Rajini sir in many films. What colours used to suit him etc. His inputs played a vital role and supported my work" says Anu on a grateful note.
Speaking about working with Rajini and director Pa.Ranjith, she said
"Rajini sir will appreciate your work if he likes it. You get very excited and pumped up. Ranjith takes a lot of care for the character. He will take only what is required for his character and not just because something is good."
