The coronavirus updates for today in Tamil Nadu witnessed yet another day of more than 6000 cases with 6426 new cases taking up the total number of patients to 2,34,114 so far. The death toll has risen to 3741 with 82 new deaths in the past twenty-four hours.

With 1117 new cases Chennai still maintains its average of the past ten days with total cases reaching 97575 and 2076 deaths. Among the other districts data Chengalpattu has reported 540 cases and Thiruvallur, Tirunelveli, Kancheepuram and Virudhunagar have 382, 379, 373 and 370 cases respectively, while Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Madurai have recorded more than 200 cases.

On the positive side 60,794 samples were tested today taking up the total of tests to 25,36,660 and is continuously leading in numbers among all Indian states. 5927 patients have been discharged today taking up the tally of recoveries to 1,72,883.
