The latest official update on the COVID 19 situation in Tamil Nadu is pretty scary as the highest spike in numbers has been reported with 771 new patients testing positive. Chennai as usual accounts for near about fifty percent with 324 newly infected people who are majorly associated with the Koyambedu market cluster.
Second highest number of cases reported are from Ariyalur (188), followed by Cuddalore (95) while the rest of the state are more or less stable for the past few days. The total number of cases in the state now stands at 4829 with 2328 of them from Chennai. The death toll now is 35 after two persons lost their lives in the past twenty four hours.
1516 persons have recovered from the coronavirus in TN including 31 today and 3275 cases are active as of now. The Tamil Nadu government's decision to reopen the TASMAC liquor stores all over the state except Chennai may impact the numbers even more in the coming days according to political analysts and opposition party leaders.
