Chennai has once again seen a shocking increase in new coronavirus patients with the highest single-day number of 203 while the rest of Tamil Nadu saw an increase of 63 almost one-fourth of the capital. The total number of affected people in Chennai is now 1458 and Tamil Nadu 3023 (active cases- 1611, 1379 discharged and death 30),

38 patients have been discharged today with 1 new death reported. The Chennai spike is predominantly from the Koyambedu vegetable market where both vendors and common people have tested positive all over Chennai. 1,50,107 samples tested till date out of which 10,617 has been tested today with 1564 samples under process. 1,40, 716 persons tested and out of the 3023 cases, 2015 are male, 1007 female & 1 transgender. 170 children below age of 12 are also affected.

The total number of positive COVID 19 cases in India now stands at 40,263 in which active is 28,070 , recovered -is 10,887 and 1306 have lost their lives.
