IIT Bombay to develop gel against Coronavirus!

Coronavirus outbreak has created a huge impact all over the world, with lakhs of deaths reported, and even India has been hugely affected by this Virus outbreak. Just like other nations, India has also imposed a lockdown across the country.
In an attempt to combat Coronavirus the government of India announced to support innovations to prevent the spread of Coronavirus in the country. Now, a statutory body monitored by Department of Science and Technology (DST), Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) is set to support a technology for capturing and causing inactivation of the Coronavirus inside humans.
This technology is being developed by IIT Bombay’s Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, and a team is focusing on developing a gel which can be applied to human nasal passage as this is the primary entry for Coronavirus into human beings. The team is hoping to make nasal gel technology ready for human usage in 9 months.
