'Coronavirus' Trailer: RGV's stamp written all over it

'Coronavirus' is touted to be the world's first film on coronavirus. Going by its 4-minute long Trailer, however, it's hardly about coronavirus. Rather, it's about a family that is traumatized after one of its female members is suspected to have contracted Covid-19. Writing a story revolving around an affected patient and the psychological repercussions suffered by her family is not the same as making a film on Covid-19.
Starring 'Brochevarevaru' actor Srikanth Iyengar as the family head, this one comes in the direction of Agasthya Manju, but has Ram Gopal Varma's imprint all over it. With music by DSR, the film seems to have the vibes of a horror flick. The night-effect, the ominous BGM, the hyper-tensed expressions - they all indicate that the film is spiritually an RGV product.
Releasing the trailer, the controversial filmmaker says, "The story is set in a LOCKDOWN and it has been SHOT during LOCKDOWN. Wanted to prove no one can stop our work whether it’s GOD or CORONA (sic)."
Well, proving a point to God Almighty and Coronavirus is fine. Proving a point to the audience is what RGV should think about. For once at least.
