The shoot of Mammootty-Manju Warrier starrer upcoming movie 'The Priest' has been temporarily called off as a preventive measure to curb the spread of coronavirus. The shoot of the movie, which has been progressing in Kochi for the past few weeks, will resume after March 31, after the virus outbreak comes under control.
Touted to be an out-and-out thriller, the movie brings together Manju Warrier and Mammotty for the first time in their cinema career. It is reported that Manju won't be paired with Mammootty. However, the audience can expect good screentime of the duo together. Directed by Jofin T Chacko, the thriller also stars Nikhila Vimal in an important role. Anto Joseph is bankrolling the film under his banner in association with filmmaker B Unni Krishnan.
Jointly produced by Anto Joseph, B Unnikrishnan, and VN Babu, the film has Akhil George of ‘Iblis’ fame as the cinematographer and Rahul Raj as the music director. Editing is by Shameer Muhammed. It remains to see what's in the stores for us next.
With the delay in the shoot, 'The Priest' will not hit the big screens this summer. It is reported that the movie is likely to be an Eid release.
