Tamil Nadu: Four suspected cases of coronavirus reported

Four people from Tamil Nadu, including a two-year-old boy, have been hospitalized after they showed symptoms of the novel coronavirus, that has been rapidly proliferating in the last couple of months across the world.
Three people, including the two-year-old boy, have been quarantined in Trichy after they showed symptoms of the infection following their recent return from Malaysia. Another young boy, a research student in Japan who flew down to Chennai via Singapore, has been admitted to a hospital in Coimbatore. All of them are currently under medical supervision. According to a report by a news agency, nearly a hundred thousand people who recently landed in Chennai, Coimbatore, Trichy, and Madurai have been screened for the infection, among which 1292 people are under home quarantine. The health officials have requested the citizens to not panic and take basic precautionary measures to prevent the infection.
The novel coronavirus, now officially called Covid-19, has claimed the lives of more than 3100 people and infected over 90000 people across the world. The virus was first identified in Wuhan, Hubei Province, in China. As the death toll and overall cases began rising rapidly across the world, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared a global health emergency.
