The countries of the world are racing against time to develop a vaccine for the deadly COVID 19 pandemic that has devastated the globe by killing close to two hundred thousand people and infecting two and a half million. The DR. MGR University in Chennai Tamil Nadu is a step closer to a breakthrough as researchers have identified the protein that could resist the virus.
Dr. Sudha Seshayyan the vice-chancellor of the University along with Tamannaah and Pushkanna employed the reverse vaccinology method and has declared that the initial tests are a success. Now collaborating with an American Research group a vaccine could be developed in Chennai in a year's time and could come to public use as early as that.
