Coronavirus kills 80 in China, thousands are ill

Coronavirus has caused the death of about 80 in China. Nearly 2750 have fallen ill in the country, while the worldwide figure stands at a bit more. A BBC report says that 42 infections have been confirmed in countries like the US, Thailand and Australia.
"Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in China, is the hotbed of the virus. It has been kept under lockdown. Holidays have been extended in China," a report says.
As many as 461 are critically ill in China. No death has been reported in any country other than China.
Meanwhile in India, the Union Home Ministry has said that, in total, about 29,707 passengers from 137 flights have been screened in India as of Sunday. No coronavirus case has been detected so far. A PTI report says that suspected cases have been reported in States such as Kerala and Maharashtra, with about 100 people kept under observation.
