While it is already known that the novel coronavirus could cause potential damage to the lungs, heart, and brain, experts have now warned that the infection may also cause long-term erectile dysfunction in men.
In a recent interview with a news agency, infectious disease expert Dr. Dena Grayson has highlighted the possibility of the virus affecting a man's ability to perform in the bedroom even after he has recovered from the illness. "Men could have long-term issues of erectile dysfunction from this virus because we know that it causes issues in the vasculature... This is something that is of real concern. It's not just that this virus can kill you but can actually cause long-term, lifelong, potentially, complications," Grayson said. Despite majority of people recovering from Covid-19, the infectious disease expert said they expect to see more 'long term negative consequences of infection', as time goes on, including neurological complications.
India registered 32,981 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours, taking the country's overall tally to over 96.77 lakh. With 391 new deaths, the country has recorded 1,40,573 deaths in total.
