COVID-19 in Telangana: Co-passengers of group to be tested

The Director of Public Health and Family Welfare Department from Hyderabad has sought details of those passengers who travelled by the Andhra Pradesh Sampark Kranthi Express on March 13.  This request has been made in the wake of eight Indonesian persons who travelled in the train's Coach No. S9 testing positive for Coronavirus.

"It is to inform that eight individuals who travelled from Delhi on the said date in the said train and reached Ramagundam on March 14 have tested positive for COVID-19 virus.  In view of this, it's to be informed that contact-tracing has to be done so that vulnerable people can be tested.  The details of co-passengers who travelled in the same coach as the positive case are sought," an official note says.

The Telangana government and health authorities are taking steps to contain the spread in the wake of the shocking news.  So far, the State has witnessed 13 positive cases.
