In an unfortunate turn of events, Tollywood Megastar Chiranjeevi has officially announced that he has tested positive for the deadly Coronavirus. The actor was supposed to begin shooting for his next movie Acharya, and took the mandatory test.

Sharing a note on social media, Chiranjeevi announced the news. The note read "Took a test for Covid before resuming 'Acharya' shoot as a protocol and unfortunately tested positive. I am currently asymptomatic & Quarantine myself at home. Request all those who met me in the last 5 days to also undergo covid tests. Will update you on my recovery soon".

The 65 year old actor was last seen on screen in the historical Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy and was supposed to resume shooting this week for Koratala Siva's Acharya. Fans of the veteran star are tweeting wishing him a speedy recovery.
