In an unfortunate incident, one of the two Tamil Nadu ambulance drivers who travelled more than 3000 km from Chennai to Tripura drop five people there has tested positive for Coronavirus.
It was announced by the Education minister of Tripura Ratan Lal Nath that the ambulance driver drove the ambulance with two female patients from Gomati and Baikhora and their attendants, as they reached on April 27.
Following a Thermal screening at Churaibari entry point, the two drivers and the passengers were asymptomatic, and their samples were collected and tested with one of the drivers from Tamil Nadu testing positive yesterday. After the result came, the ambulance which had left Tripura was stopped at Siliguri and the driver was admitted to hospital. The state is in the process of tracing the contacts of the drivers.
