A shocking video has been viral since yesterday, and the video has visuals of the body of an unidentified Coronavirus infected patient being thrown into a pit by four health workers in Pondicherry. The manner in which the burial happened has angered netizens and Puducherry Collector Arun has ordered a probe.
In the video, body of the deceased is seen wrapped just in a white cloth which is totally contrasting to the measures mandated by the government for burying a coronavirus patient. Four health workers with personal protective equipment (PPE) are seen carrying the body on a stretcher near the pit.
The body is being dropped and rolled into the pit and falls out of the cloth covering, inside the pit. When they walk with the empty stretcher to where the ambulance is parked, the person taking the video informs that the body was thrown inside the pit, to another officer who gives a thumbs-up. Reportedly, the patient was a man from Chennai who had been stranded with his wife at Puducherry. After the video went viral, a probe has been ordered.
