The person from Madurai who was admitted in the government Rajaji hospital after being tested positive for Coronavirus has passed away, announced Tamil Nadu health minister Vijayabaskar via Twitter.
The person who hails from Anna Nagar in Madurai had symptoms of acute respiratory illness and Vijayabaskar had yesterday tweeted that the 54 year old was not responding well to treatment since evening and his health was deteriorating. The person had a medical history of prolonged illness with steroid dependent COPD, uncontrolled Diabetes with Hypertension.
Earlier today at 2:02 AM, Minister Vijayabaskar announced the shocking news via Twitter that the person passed away despite best efforts. His tweet read "#update: Despite our best efforts, the #COVID19 +ve Pt at MDU, #RajajiHospital, passed away few minutes back.He had medical history of prolonged illness with steroid dependent COPD, uncontrolled Diabetes with Hypertension.@MoHFW_INDIA @CMOTamilNadu #Vijayabaskar".
