Actor Jagadish, a familiar face to Telugu audiences through Icon Star Allu Arjun's "Pushpa: The Rise," was arrested today in a deeply unsettling incident. The Panjagutta police apprehended him based on allegations linking him directly to a woman's tragic suicide, claiming he had taken compromising pictures with a junior artist.
The distressing details suggest that Jagadish not only took these compromising pictures but also subjected the woman to severe emotional distress by threatening to share them online. Tragically, she took her own life on the 29th of the previous month, prompting a thorough investigation that led to Jagadish's custody and subsequent court appearance today.
Initially registered as a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC), the situation took a disturbing turn when the victim's family learned of the alleged blackmail involving private photos by the artiste, Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari. The accused, known for portraying Allu Arjun's friend in "Pushpa," and the woman were once in a relationship, both pursuing careers in the arts before going their separate ways.
Recent events unfolded with Jagadish reportedly contacting the victim, sharing private photos, and resorting to blackmail, prompting her parents to bring this information to the authorities. Consequently, the charges were amended to abetment of suicide, resulting in Jagadish's arrest and subsequent placement in judicial custody.
Jagadish, a significant presence in "Pushpa" and its sequel, as well as notable roles in films like âMallesham,â âGeorge Reddy,â and âPalasa 1978,â now awaits the unfolding legal proceedings, leaving the public to ponder on the forthcoming judgment in this distressing case.
Jagadish is yet to respond regarding the allegations on him. The arrest of Jagadish came as a shock not only to all his fans but also to the entire industry as he is making rapid strides in the big screen doing different genre roles.
