Cooku with Comaali Season 5 debuted on Vijay TV during the final week of April. A total of 10 cooks and 14 comalis are part of the blockbuster cooking comedy show's new season. There was no elimination in the first three weeks. The first elimination of the season falls on the fourth week.

Actress Shaalin Zoya and veteran composer Srikanth Deva were in the danger zone for the elimination. Shaalin Zoya shared a cryptic post on Instagram which made the fans think that she was eliminated but reports say that wasn't the case. According to the sources, composer Srikanth Deva is the first contestant to be eliminated from CWC Season 5. This is going viral on social media now.

Shaalin Zoya's post says, "Thank you for the love. Been reading everything. Both positives and negatives. Thank you for fighting for me. Thank you for taking a stand on me. I love you all. Been doing movies for past 20 years but doing one reality show suddenly made me this viral and also truly realising the power of social media also. And this love feels bit more personal as this time you are not loving any movie character but the real me.
