Popular TV actor Pugazh, who rose to fame with the Tamil cooking show 'Cooku With Comali' has been roped in to play a significant role in Ajith's much-awaited upcoming film 'Valimai,' directed by H Vinoth.

Pugazh has reportedly shot for his portions in the film already and is sharing screen space in quite a few scenes with the lead actor himself. Details regarding the character Pugazh is playing have not been revealed. Although there have been no recent updates from the Valimai team, a picture from the sets of the movie which was released a week ago went viral minutes after it surfaced online. The shooting of Valimai commenced earlier this year but came to a halt due to the coronavirus pandemic. After 8 months, the shooting resumed and is currently in progress at the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad. A statement from Ajith's side regarding the constant demand for an update from fans was released recently. "To those who ask Valimai updates. Ajith got injured on the sets, but he is determined to complete the film without any delay. Ajith and an experienced producer like Boney Kapoor will sit together to decide regarding Valimai updates and would announce them at the right time. Please wait for the updates and respect their decision," the statement read.

Produced by Boney Kapoor, Valimai also stars Huma Qureshi, Karthikeya, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles. The cinematography is handled by Nirav Shah, while the music is composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja
