Samantha Ruth Prabhu's 'Yashoda' has received a jolt from a Hyderabad City Civil Court, which has held off the survival thriller's OTT release on the grounds that the film besmirches the brand image of EVA by showing an EVA IVF Hospital in the film as a shady one.
A petition was filed in the court, saying that the Hari-Harish directorial tarnishes the reputation of EVA.
The logo design of EVA and a couple of other features were clearly drawn from EVA, many felt upon watching the film. This sort of controversy was expected.
The OTT release of the movie can't happen before December 19. A further hearing will decide the fate of the film's OTT release.
With music by Mani Sharma and starring an ensemble cast, the film is a box-office hit. Released in multiple languages, its box-office collections are decent for its budget.
