With Rashtra Ram Charan Yuva Shakti announcing in a quarter-page ad in major Telugu dailies some days ago, that the records set by Magadheera (2009) are intact, whatever the claims of the producers of Dookudu, the simmering controversy around the share of Dookudu has got a fillip.

It was claimed by 14 Reels Entertainment that Dookudu had grossed Rs. 101 cr in first 47 days of its release and that it crossed the 50-day mark in 312 centres. Even Mahesh Babu had tweeted that his film was the biggest grosser in the history of Telugu cinema. This, apparently, did not go down well with the fans of Ram Charan, who tried to rebut the claims of Dookudu’s makers by presenting statistics of Magadheera’s records in the advertisement.

Their claims are: Magadheera is the biggest grosser in the 80-year old history of Telugu cinema; It is the biggest film in terms of the number of centers it was played for both 50 (287) as well as 100 (223) days.

Without naming Dookudu, the ad says that some elements are trying to drive a wedge between fans of rival heroes by making fallacious claims. Even while blowing Mega Power Star’s trumpet, it says that they (the association) wish some film surpasses the records of Magadheera in future, and a film from the Chiru camp pips it!

All said, the riddle remains unsolved. Nobody knows the truth behind the arithmetic. It may be noted that the share figures related to neither Magadheera nor Dookudu are availabe.
