Contributions pick up steam

Though Andhra film stars were quietly contributing to relief works for the tsunami-hit, there was a major furore in the media that the filmwallahs were not doing enough.
But now slowly their efforts are slowly getting into the public domain. The news is a couple of senior stars (who did not want their name to be published) have committed Rs.10 lakh for the relief. The nice thing about it is that they don't want undue publicity out of it.
Elsewhere, Balakrishna has given Rs.three lakhs to the Red Cross, AP Film Chamber of Commerce and Filmnagar Cultural Center donated Rs.seven lakhs.
The list is growing. The stars may be slow in reacting. But their hearts are in the right place.
