Few days back, social media had been in a frenzy, tweeting with the hashtag Pray for Nesamani, and lots of memes and trolls connected with the character played by top comedian Vadivelu in the 2001 Siddique directorial blockbuster Friends, that had Vijay and Suriya sharing screen space.

The comedy track was a huge hit even during its release, and now, with the Nesamani hashtag becoming a trend, even the Nesamani comedy episode on YouTube has achieved more than 5 million views which is an unexpected reach. Even actor Vadivelu, humbled by the response, attributed the fame to God's blessings.

While the trending also saw people change their names on Twitter by adding the prefix contractor to their names, now in an interesting progress, in the Tamil Film Producer Council, "Contractor Nesamani" has been registered as a film's title. While there are no details on the name of the producer who has registered this, it is an interesting move, keeping with the current trend.
