Filmmaker D Ramesh, who made his foray in the tinsel town with Vijayakanth-starrer ‘Ulavuthurai’ a decade ago, followed it up with ‘Jananam’, which had Arun Vijay in the lead role.
After a brief interval, he is back. This time, he would be directing Sathyaraj for a film titled ‘Kalavaram’. The movie, which is based on a real life incident, is likely to hit the screens by the end of this year.
Says Ramesh, “Kalavaram is based on the biggest riot that has ever taken place in Tamil Nadu. The film provides a solution for violence. Sathyaraj plays a Deputy Commissioner of Police who heads an investigation panel.”
“The film has no romance and will have only two songs. It is being shot in and around Chennai and Madurai,” he adds. Popular Telugu actor Thanikala Bharani, Ajay Ragav, Suji Bala, Raj Kapoor and Mayilsamy are also in the cast.
